I'm as at home with a soldering iron, an IR sensor, and a datasheet as I am with a Kubernetes cluster. DefCon lit the fuse — the hardware-hacking villages hooked me — and it's run as a thread ever since, from the Facebook offices to the warehouse floor to a bench full of chips at home.
Raspberry Pi + IR distance sensing tracked stock per slot and auto-paged IT to restock a specific machine — “machine X, floor Y, building B.”
Badge in, auto-scored every goal with the same sensor rig, live leaderboard on a wall-mounted TV — deployed across two offices.
A battery-powered “shoebox” robot I built at home that roamed on its own and detected — and refused to drive down — stairs. I brought it in and it became the office's unofficial pet.
Pi-based scanning hardware running extensive on-device software that sorted and routed orders across the warehouse floor.
